Estava a um bom tempo com um erro muito estranho no meu Internet Explorer 7 (IE7), que simplesmente apresentava uma janela de erro ao acessar páginas que possuíam AJAX (XMLHttpRequest) tais como o meu site brunocunha.com ou firjan.org.br. Ambos os sites utilizam o framework Prototype (prototype.js) para trabalhar com as funcionalidades AJAX. Pesquisando muito pelo Google, pegando o código de excessão do erro (0x0eedfade), cheguei finalmente à causa do problema. Isso acontece provavelmente por um Complemento do Internet Explorer corrompido. No meu caso, o complemento “QUICKfind BHO Object” (Objeto auxiliar de navegador) (Iehelp.dll) era a causa do problema. Bastou entrar em Opções da Internet => Programas => Gerenciar Complementos e desabilitar esse complemento para o problema não mais ocorrer. Se esse problema também estiver acontecendo com você, tente ir desabilitando os complementos Helpers para ver se volta a funcionar. Atualizado em 11/06/2008: Encontrei também o post Prototype and TEXTware QUICKfind vs Internet Explorer que fala sobre o mesmo problema. Para resolver o problema, sigua as instruções da página da própria Cambridge: QUICKfind stops working when you upgrade Internet Explorer and/or Word. Lá tem a atualização do QUICKfind que acabará com esse problema.
